    NextBase 222 Dash Cam

A 1080p HD Dash Camera that won’t break the bank

When it comes to Dash Cameras, high resolution is a must. It doesn’t matter if you have the camera pointed in the right direction to see an accident or road event, if the picture quality is so terrible you might as well be watching a demo derby from 1993 over at the Butler Fairgrounds, if you know what I’m saying. We’re talking VHS style here, with tracking issues and fuzz. That just won’t do today. And some of the knock off cameras on the market barely get you better quality than that. But not the NextBase 222. This particular Dash Cam is lightweight, affordable, and shoots in full 1080p HD @ 30 frames per second. When it comes to capturing a license plate from a speeding lunatic who just cut you off flying down the highway doing 95 mph, you’re gonna need every damn frame. Each additional FPS, after all is one more quick slip second snap shot of the road ahead. And while 29 of those might be suffering from motion blur, that 30th might be the perfect image to show you were not the one at fault in an accident. And NextBase couples this stellar camera with a 140 degree wide angle lens to capture all the road ahead of you. Throw in Intelligent Parking Mode for good measure, and you’ve got yourself protection when you’re away from your vehicle as well as when you’re heading on down the road. And all this is bundled up in a tight little package with the Click & Go Pro Magnetic Mount and Power Cable and everything you need to get going on the road protected by the watchful eye of your very own NextBase, save a microSD card. You will want to pick up one of those as well. Let’s breakdown the NextBase 222 and tell you why it is a great upgrade from the 122 and might be the perfect Dash Camera for your particular ride.

    NextBase 222 Dash Cam

When it comes to protecting your loved ones and your vehicle from bad drivers and dangerous situations, most of us spare little expense. And the latest advancements in technology over the years have made driving automobiles safer than ever. We have anti-lock brakes that prevent us from slipping on icy or wet roads. There’s a plethora of air bags in most vehicles these days in case the worst does happen and you end up in an accident. And when that all goes wrong, we have our handy dandy cell phones to call in the authorities to save the day.

And while that is all great, improving safety and lowering serious medical injury over time, we don’t often consider the aftermath. Hopefully no one is injured in this hypothetical accident. But you know what always is damaged in these situations: your vehicle. Seems to be the nature of the beast. After all, it isn’t an automobile accident if there’s no damage to the vehicle, right?

So what about that part of these terrible and sometime unavoidable accidents? What do you do next?

While these amazing technological advancements have made driving on today’s highways safer than ever before in many ways. But there are a few shortcomings as well. Some of these new technologies have also made it incredibly common for vehicles to be totalled out even from what used to be considered minor collisions.

The reason for this has to do with a fairly obvious issue once you think about it: deployed airbags have to be replaced. Now while people often consider your car to be totaled out, especially if more than one air bag deployed, this isn’t necessarily true. As a rough estimate, figure than you’re going to have to spend at least $3,000 to repair or replace a couple air bags during any collision, and that this amount can increase per airbag upwards of $1,500 per bag.

You can see where that common thought that if you’re airbags are deployed your vehicle is probably totaled comes from. Now it depends on the value of the vehicle, of course. But if you’re found at fault in an accident, chances are good you’re either going to be fitting this bill yourself or your insurance company is going to try to total out the vehicle. Once you add on bumper repair, body repair, potential frame damage, engine repair, probably a radiator if we’re talking front end collision, that $5,000 air bag bill just pushes it over the limit pretty fast.

So what are we to do? Airbags do save lives. But if some jack@$$ pulls out in front of me suddenly doing 10 MPH, and I slam on the brakes doing 25 and still hit him hard enough to deploy my air bags, I’m in a world of pocketbook hurt, my friend.

That is unless I can prove I’m not the one at fault.

One of the issues though with rear end collisions like the example above is that without some kind of eye witness to verify that the other driver cut you off, you’re probably going to be stuck holding a fault ticket and hence holding the bill for the other driver’s repairs and your own. And again, even if you’re driving a big truck like me, there’s still a solid chance that your airbags deployed even if your bumper isn’t really damaged.

So what’s a guy to do? Pay $5,000 to replace 4 airbags every time someone not paying attention cuts you off? Drive like a grandpa because you don’t want to ever risk something like this happening to you? Or just drive safe and get yourself that eyewitness you need--like a spouse or a girl friend?

Then again, that eyewitness might not be particularly unbiased. My wife tends to be pissed at me after an accident like this, so she might in her rage blame it all on me.

So wouldn’t it be nice to always have an independent and verifiable witness always with you? Someone who will always have your back, even if you didn’t take out the garbage last night again like you said you would Monday? Wouldn’t that be great?

Introducing the NextBase 222 Dash Cam. This baby records in full high definition and will never get mad at you for dipping out on household chores.

For seriously though, having a NextBase 222 Dash Cam in your vehicle is like having an eye witness traffic layer by your side twenty-four seven. With a full HD 2.5” screen, you can even replay the recent footage to your friendly local police officer to prove immediately that you were not in fault. That guy really did cut you off.

And if that doesn’t work, your insurance company will fight tooth and nail for you (and themselves) to avoid a hefty repair bill, and that dash cam footage is going to come in handy.

So do yourself a favor. For the fraction of the cost of replacing just one air bag from a minor collision, this Dash Cam 222 from Next Base will make sure that if you didn’t cause the accident, you won’t be at fault. Protect your investment, your vehicle, your lives, and you insurance rates. Get your NextBase 222 Dash Cam today.
