Our R18 Camshaft is a 'Drop-In' type camshaft - This only means it does not require the use of aftermarket valve train components. This camshaft retains the stock VTEC 'Economy' lobe for a smooth, OE-Quality idle and virtually unchanged fuel economy.
A professional tune is highly recommended to ensure proper idle, air/fuel ratios and to achieve optimal performance gains.

The Stage II cam also provides more lift and duration, and is a drop in cam that requires no spring or retainer upgrade. To extract the utmost power a tuning device such as Hondata would be required.
